Will the Bears Bolster Pass Rush with Budding Star Chop Robinson?

The Chicago Bears are continuing to play host to NFL Draft prospects for top-30 visits at Halas Hall. Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson is visiting the Bears on Monday and he could be a huge addition to the Matt Eberflus defense.

Robinson has one of the quickest first steps in the 2024 draft class. His ability to get to the quarterback is exceptional, even if he isn't an every-down pass rusher.

Chop Robinson On The Bears Has What Ceiling?

There is an argument to be made for Chop Robinson having an incredible NFL career. He has many traits that transfer well to the professional level and if he lands in the right situation, he could become a generational player.

The Building the Board scouts discussed Chop Robinson and projected how his career may go. Scout Tom Kavanaugh compared Robinson to the likes of former Chicago Bears defensive end Robert Quinn. He said Robinson doesn't fit the mold of a three-down player but his athleticism and freakish get-off are worth it.

Scout Steve Letizia agreed with Tom but added that Robinson doesn't have the power he typically likes for this position. He said if Robinson could add a consistent inside move to go with his insane speed, then opposing offensive linemen would have to respect him.

Letizia also mentioned that he noticed similarities in Chop Robinson's game to that of Micah Parsons. He didn't directly compare Robinson to Parsons, but the ability to beat opponents so smoothly is extremely similar.

Steve didn't exactly say Chop Robinson would become the next Micah Parsons but it's fair to make that comparison. If the Chicago Bears do select Robinson in the 2024 NFL Draft, he could fit very well opposite Montez Sweat and become a truly great pass rusher. The next Parsons or not, Robinson can flourish in the NFL if he lands in the right situation and the Bears might be just that.
