LSU football is making it clear to the entire country that they have no plans of changing their current status of “WRU” anytime in the near future. After already possessing commitments from two four-star or better pass catchers in the class of 2025, they still have a chance to land one or two more impressive recruits, as former Alabama wide receiver commit Jaime Ffrench is scheduled to take an official visit to Baton Rouge next month.

Former Alabama wide receiver commit to take official visit to LSU football next month

When it comes to wide receiver talent in the class of 2025, very few recruits nationally compare to that of former Alabama commitment Jaime Ffrench. Rated as a five-star recruit, according to the 247Sports Composite, as well as the No. 3 player at his position, he can catch a football with the best of them.

While he won’t exactly wow from an overall speed standpoint, he has elite route running ability to go with impressive body control and strong hands. Additionally, with experience in both basketball and track and field, his overall athleticism speaks for itself.

Even more impressive is the fact that he’s managed to make a strong impact for Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, FL, since the moment he stepped onto the field for them back in 2021. Over the last three seasons, he’s amassed 114 receptions for 2,034 yards and 21 touchdowns.

In turn, those are all just a few reasons why it’s so encouraging that coach Brian Kelly and LSU were recently named as one of four schools that he’ll take an official visit to this summer.

Along with the Tigers in late May to early June, Ffrench is scheduled to take a visit Miami on June 7, Tennessee on June 14 and Texas on June 21, giving him plenty of time to sort through his top contenders ahead of his senior year of high school.

Interestingly enough, his list of four official visits might not even include his full group top schools right now. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound pass catcher has also taken visits to Florida and Florida State, and is a pretty sizable favorite to eventually landed with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Regardless of where the talented wide receiver ends up for his future home, there’s little doubt that he has the kind of overall skill that could get him on the field early and often in his collegiate career.
